1/4 Mile from Alliance Metals...

Just a 1/4 mile from Alliance Metals are two/three parks and a youth rec center. Click on the photo for a larger view...

Fitzgerald/Union parks, just across from Alliance is a "waiting room" for Alliance customers. Those living around the park are afraid to use it because Alliance customers loiter there when Alliance is open, publicly consuming alcohol and dropping their trash on the ground. They can be loud and often times argue and fight with each other. Alliance said that they would keep this park clean and orderly but you will find all sorts of carousing and trash left on the ground (even drug paraphernalia). You'll also find abandoned shopping carts and recycling bins. And, unfortunately, this daily mess attracts other dumping.

St Andrews park, is another favorite place for Alliance customers to hang out. They go back and forth between these two spots...wheeling "their" shopping carts down the middle of the streets. St Andrews is also popular for prostitution. Condoms can be found regularly on the ground. Some neighbors are trying to clean the park up but it is a constant battle. With Alliance effectively supplying money for drugs and prostitution it will be impossible to ever make this park a pleasant place to hang out.

Willie Keys Rec Center, is named after Willie Keys who used to live across the street from Alliance Metals on 34th street. He was a long-time resident who complained about Alliance Metals and tried heroically to hold Alliance accountable for the horrible effects it has had (and continues to have) on the community. Unfortunately Willie's voice had been squelched by Alliance's PR machine and army of lawyers. As a tribute to his efforts, the rec center honors Willie's memory...but children in the neighborhood are still subjected to witnessing Alliance customers buying and doing drugs, urinating and defecating in the streets. It's a shame that Jay cannot clean up his business and stop the ongoing damage his business practices are doing to our neighborhood.

Perhaps, it's time for Alliance Metals to move to a more appropriate location. Other recyclers are moving out to the old Oakland Army base. Alliance should do the same.

Drug Dealer Selling Drugs to an Alliance Customer...

Notice that Alliance Metals is in the background. Sometimes dealers will actually escort Alliance customers as they're on their way to recycle. Sometimes dealers just wait on the corner.

Gee Whiz...Again?...

A neighbor took this photo of an Alliance customer whizzing on a fence...

He zips up when he's done...

And continues on his way to Alliance Metals just around the corner. He couldn't wait until he got there? I guess were lucky he didn't have to take a crap (which happens).

A Flock of Shopping Carts Dumped by Alliance Customers...

On a very busy Highway 24 off-ramp just a few blocks from Alliance.

Trash Left in Fitzgerald Park (across from Alliance)...

Alliance customers use this park to loiter during the day when Alliance is open. The neighborhood folk are too disgusted or scared to use it themselves. And this is what happens when Alliance closes and Alliance's customers leave their trash behind. Alliance said they would keep this park clean...just more broken promises...

Alliance Fixing their Trucks on the Street...

It is illegal to make repairs on vehicles on public streets. However, Alliance doesn't have the room inside it's facilities during business hours so ignores the laws. Perhaps Alliance needs to move to a larger facility...and maybe one away from peoples homes. CASS Metals is moving to the old Oakland Army Base. Maybe Alliance should join them.

More Alliance Drug Use Just Around the Corner from Alliance on 34th...

All financed by Alliance Metals and our stolen recycling...

Two Alliance Customers doing Drugs next to a Recreation Center...

Another favorite spot around Alliance for customers to do their drugs...

Another Alliance customer joins in on the drug fun...

All high and good to go, this Alliance customer goes on his merry way...

However, this customer decides to hang out and dope up some more. This is just kitty-corner from the Willie Key Recreation Center @ 32nd and Union streets...where neighborhood kids can witness this kind of illegal activities...and possibly join in as they get older.

A Lady Customer Pulls Her Pants Down and Urinates in the Street...

Just minutes after reporting an Alliance customer urinating on their front door step, a neighbor catches another Alliance customer urinating in the street (apparently just around the corner from Alliance)...

Alliance Customer Recycling After Urinating on Someone's Property...

A neighbor found this customer in red urinating in front of his front door...

The neighbor called Alliance to ask that this customer be banned...

Instead, the customer hangs around Alliance while his friend turns in his recycling for him...

So much for Alliance trying to curb the bad behavior of their customers...

Alliance just laughs all the way to the bank.

Camper / Drug Distribution Center...

These campers can be found parked all around Alliance Metals. Drug dealers/runners...on bikes...will conduct their "business" inside these campers. Some Alliance customers will even go into these campers themselves and minutes later will emerge with their "purchases"...all made possible by Alliance Metals accepting stolen recycling (in stolen shopping carts). It's not just the drug dealer that profit...Alliance makes about $10,000,000 yr. on our stolen recycling (hurting our neighborhood in the process).
