Alliance Customer Illegally Parked on Sidewalk...

This is across the street from Alliance (in the background). Where is Alliance's staff? Where is their Security guard?

Alliance Customer Urinates on Alliance...

Driving past Alliance I see a customer peeing on the side of Alliance itself...just 20-30 feet from Alliance's restroom(s). Where is Alliance's staff? Should I find some satisfaction that Alliance itself is also a victim of such bad behavior? And not just us? Or is this part of the reason why Alliance smells so bad that no one who lives in the neighborhood wants to walk past it?

Compliments of Alliance and its customers.

How Much Money Does Alliance Make from Its Walk-Up Business...

How about $405,600 to $1,341,600 a year?

Let's start with the two receipts from individual customers, shown in the other post for $13 and $43. If you assume that these amounts are redeemed 6 days a week (Alliance is open 6 days a week) then the annual income for these individual would be $4,056 to $13,416.

Now Alliance Customers walk past my house at least once every 15 minutes...or 4x an hour or...32x an 8-hr day. From that, it's easy to image that Alliance receives at least 100 customers a day (and that a very, very conservative number).

So, if we multiply the number of daily customers by the average daily pay out and by the number of weeks in a year we get $405,600 to $1,341,600 that is paid out to Alliance Customers. Now, I don't know of a business that would let it's employees make more than it does so it's easy to image that Jay makes (at least) what they make.

And this income does not include the many cars and large pickup trucks that line up at Alliance daily. It's easy to believe that Alliance makes over $10,000,000/yr. Recent evidence has even suggested that that figure is now closer to $20,000,000/yr.

And what does our community get in return? Open consumption of drugs and alcohol. Public urination and defecation. Loitering. Shopping carts, recycling bins and other trash dumped on our streets. The list goes on...

How Much Money Does Alliance Customers Make Recycling?...

Amongst all the other trash that is left on my property daily by Alliance Customers I found these two receipts. One is for $13 and the other is for $43. You will notice that the receipt for $13 has section on the bottom for the customer to sign that he/she is the lawful owner of what is being recycled...and it's not signed. The reality is that 95% (if not 100%) is stolen recycling from our bins...which not only does the customer profit but so does Alliance. Alliance is profiting from our stolen recycling. Is that why Jay fiercely protects his walk-up business? Alliance customers are in effect employees producing income for Alliance...mind you, employees without vacation or health benefits.

Today's Selection of Crap Consumed by Alliance Customers then Dumped in Front of my Home...

Wrappers for Cheetos, Slim Jims, Honey Buns, Dove bar, Hot'n Spicy Pork Skins. A Raman noodle cup...probably the only thing with some "nutrition". At least there were no used condoms wrappers and empty booze bottles. BTW, there's even more stuff over at my neighbors' homes.

A Favorite Location around the Corner From Alliance to do Drugs...

But not a favorite location for Alliance's ever-vigilant Security guard to patrol (yes, I'm being sarcastic). Just tired of Alliance's endless excuses and constant lip service to the community.

What Alliance Won't Accept for Recycling Gets Dumped in Our Neighborhood...

It's not just stolen shopping carts and stolen recycling bins that get dumped in our neighborhood, anything that Alliance won't accept also gets dumped in our neighborhood (here just within sight of Alliance's facility). Again, Jay doesn't feel his business owes us anything in the way of clean up. Instead, we have to call the City and days later it might get picked up. More of our tax dollars wasted when it is clearly another cost of doing business that Alliance just shrugs off.

More Trash Dumped in Front of My Home...

M&M wrapper, mini Mr Goodbar wrappers, Pink Popcorn, styrafoam cup, a cigarette pack, iced honey buns, more pork cracklins...all compliments of Alliance Customers. I wonder if Jay (the owner of Alliance) would enjoy having to pick this up in front of his house everyday?

Stop and Smell the Roses...

Alliance is far from a Rose in the garden of Dogtown. Come down on a Sunday when Alliance is closed and it's a different world. That's simple proof enough how detrimental Alliance is to the neighborhood. Alliance needs to alter its business practices if it deserves to continue to do business.

Another Day's Worth of Trash Left Behind by Alliance Customers...

It gets tiring having to pick this trash up on a daily basis. Alliance uses a mechanical sidewalk cleaner to clean their sidewalks daily. I wish they would clean ours as well. This is just another cost of doing business that Alliance pushes onto its neighbors. How neighborly is that?

Alliance Says it Keeps the Park Across the Street Clean...

This is Fitzgerald Park across the street from Alliance. It doesn't look clean. Not sure I'd want to picnic there...or have my kids play there. At least I don't see Alliance Customers drinking alcohol or doing drugs...which is usually a common sight.

Sigh...

As an "attractive nuisance", Alliance draws people from all over and concentrates them and their shopping carts and recycling bins all over our streets. One solution that has been tossed around (for years), besides moving Alliance to a more appropriate area, is to create multiple "satellite" locations. So far, there has been no progress in this area. Peralta and 34th, where Alliance is located, is a major intersection feeding both the 580, 80 and 880 highways.

Stay the F*** Out...

Alliance Customers have no compunction about trespassing onto private property. This frustrated Alliance neighbor makes it very clear that they are not amused.

This Regular Alliance Customer Blocks City Streets and Urinates Right in the Middle of the Street Just a Block Away from Alliance...

Getting off 580 I find myself behind this regular Alliance Customer. He wheels "his" carts right down the middle of the lane, across intersections. Then, to my surprise (actually not so surprising any more) he stops to urinate right in the middle of the street while cars have to go around him. This customer is only a block away from Alliance but would rather urinate on the street than use Alliance's restrooms. Are Alliance's restrooms that filthy that he'd rather urinate on the streets?

More Food (and Condom) Wrappers Left on My Doorstep...

Hmm, what's on the Alliance food program menu today? Brownies, Twix and more pork skins. Oh, and it must have been a special meal because there was also a bottle of Wild Irish Rose...and a condom.

Alliance Claims to Keep Its Own Facilities Clean...

I guess I have a difference standard of what is clean. People who live or walk by Alliance have constantly made comments about the trash around and smells coming from Alliance Metals. This has been a long-going problem. Something you would think would be simple for Alliance to get a handle on. I guess not.

The Police Stop Another Alliance Customer...

Stolen and/or Abandoned Cables...

These stolen and/or abandoned cables were left on the corner of Peralta and 34th (along with the stolen and abandoned shopping cart). Many of our homes have had cables and other stuff ripped out to be recycled for cash. Alliance has been busted many times by the Police for receiving improper recycling. Think of the many more times this must have happened when the Police weren't conducting their sting operation.

What do Alliance Customers Spend their Money on when Not Buying Drugs and Alcohol?...

Potato chips, marshmellow treats, pork skins and candy bars. This is what Alliance believes is healthy eating for their customers. Then all these wrappers and bags get dumped in front of our homes. This is just one days worth of crap. Thank you Alliance. Alliance should be made responsible for cleaning up our neighborhood on a daily basis.

Alliance Customer Rifles through our Recycling Bins while others Block Streets with their Shopping Carts...

Where is Alliance's Security guard? Alliance knows this happens regularly (especially on recycling days). I guess Jay (the owner of Alliance) is content to take their cut in this stolen recycling. It would be nice if some of that money came back to the local community.

Alliance's Own Trucks Regularly Pose as a Road Hazard...

It's just not Alliance's Customers but Alliance's own trucks that create hazardous conditions on our neighborhood streets. In the rain with poor visability, cars are having to drive against traffic to get past an Alliance truck.
